Kenneth Zahler, real estate salesperson in Town & Country Real Estate's Greenport office, has over 40 years of experience in real estate, since 1974.
After ten years in the title insurance business, he opened his own company Aquebogue Abstract Corp. Over the years, Ken attended approximately 25,000 closings, prepared reports, rendered opinions, and as an expert witness gave testimony in real estate litigation cases both locally and in NYC.
He also co-presented a class for the Suffolk Bar Association.
He invests in real estate, both commercial and residential, has been involved in 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges and has acted as general contractor on construction projects, which include several residential and commercial projects. Ken spent most of his energies advising practicing attorneys on the 'real world' application of a real estate practice. His clientele has included many highly respected attorneys including four Presidents of the Suffolk County Bar Association and two State senators.
Ken is a vital part of the North Fork community and served as board member on many not-for-profit organizations. He assumed leadership of Okeanos, which rescued and rehabilitated aquatic mammals. He turned it into The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation at Atlantis Long Island Aquarium. He was a president of a Board of Education and of a Rotary chapter.
He has always had a passion for architecture and together with his wife has built and lived in four distinctive homes, two of which have been published in magazines.
All this experience adds to a diverse education and understanding of issues both directly and indirectly related to real estate: Ken helped many practicing attorneys solve the most difficult real estate issues. "As I enter into the field of real estate sales I anticipate being able to apply these same skills as an advocate for buyers and sellers."
