"All roads lead from Brooklyn," says Town & Country Real Estate agent and Brooklyn native Linda Barnds who settled in Montauk in the early 1970's after summering here with her family as a child. Between raising her children, teaching school, and owning a number of businesses Linda acquired a unique grasp of the Montauk community and its ever-changing real estate market from a variety of viewpoints.
A Hamptons real estate broker since 1978, Linda experienced the many changes in Montauk. With deep roots as a quiet fishing town that will be forever connected to Steven Spielberg"s classic thriller, "Jaws," to the emergence as a surfer's enclave, especially at Ditch Plains, Montauk has evolved over the years. The recent influx of exciting new restaurants and a booming nightlife scene may have changed the face of Montauk a bit. Regardless of the headlines, Linda sees that at its heart Montauk's culture remains closely connected to a love of the land and sea and when she's not working with clients to buy and sell homes she is actively involved in the Citizens Advisory Community, serves as a Trustee of the Montauk Library, and is on the Board of Directors of the Culloden Shores Association.
Linda's wit, honesty, and personality enable her to be successful in her real estate dealings. She has always been able to cut through the red tape to find that "perfect" something for a prospective customer. She knows the "ins and outs" of Montauk and is readily able to share this with all. Linda's respect for our beaches, our environment, and the community at large is apparent in all she does. Spare time finds Linda with her young grandsons and traveling.
