East Marion

Far at the end of the North Fork of Long Island, New York sits the picturesque hamlet of East Marion. Originally known as Oysterponds Upper Neck, renamed in 1836 for Revolutionary War “Swamp Fox” Gen. Francis Marion, East Marion is known for shellfish, countless bays and inlets, wildlife preserves, and acres of rolling farm fields.

Historically, East Marion was the headquarters of a United States Coast Guard station. To mark that dedication to protecting others a new post office turned was built, it also serves as a World War II memorial.

East Marion is a place where the world moves at a relaxed pace. Victorian homes, stately inns, and bed & breakfasts dot the area. Famous faces blend into the crowd at the Fork & Anchor in the morning discussing global and local matters, cup of coffee in hand or course. Residents and visitors alike enjoy hiking the trails at Dam Pond Maritime Reserve, catching rays at Truman’s Beach, stopping to smell the lavender as it blooms early in the summer at Lavender by the Bay, and picking up seasonal produce at Sep’s Farm.

When house hunting on the North Fork of Long Island, New York, Town & Country Real Estate has a property to show you in East Marion that fits your interests and North Fork lifestyle, whether it be a forever home, summer house, vacation rental, or investment property.
